We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Career Counselor to join our Career Services Department. The department plays a key role in supporting student employability and enhancing Les Roches' global reputation.

The Career Counselor will guide students through every stage of their career journey, from career planning to securing internships and post-graduation opportunities. This includes organizing Career Days, company visits, and other recruitment events, as well as sourcing career opportunities and developing relationships with hospitality employers worldwide.

The ideal candidate will provide personalized support to students, fostering their career development and ensuring they are prepared for successful careers in the hospitality industry. This is a full-time position with flexibility required for occasional weekend work, extra hours, and travel.

Start date:

3 February 2025.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide career counseling, including CV/cover letter reviews, interview coaching, and professional guidance.
  • Develop career opportunities for diverse student groups.
  • Collaborate with a multicultural team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Manage career events, building relationships with employers and external partners.
  • Plan and organize career-related events, and assist with other school events.
  • Attract and manage employer partnerships for Career Days and other events.
  • Represent Career Services at internal and external events.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as updating databases and managing internships.
  • Contribute to social media content for the department's platforms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and share relevant information with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Support the development of departmental policies and ensure confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Human Resources, Event Management or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in hospitality, with a proven track record of organizing large-scale events (1000+ attendees) in an international setting.
  • Experience in recruitment or job placement is a plus; experience in education or training is also beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of the global hospitality industry and market trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with career tools and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English required (additional languages like French, German, Spanish, or Chinese are a plus).
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate in a multicultural team.
  • Passion for working with students, delivering group sessions, and organizing career-related activities.
