The traineeship begins on 1st of April 2025 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.

What you will do:

• Shape with us the future of energy!?Gain insights into the daily business of a Data Engineer and work on e.g. Data Management, Modelling and Visualization
• Work on different operational and/or strategic tasks and take on responsibility from day one
• The first assignment will take place at Group IT ?, where you will Implement data pipelines using Databricks on Axpo’s data platform.
• Ingest data from various sources based on real business use cases.
• Provide and improve reusable data products for the organization.
• Contribute to internal coding standards and make reusable code available.
• Ensure data quality through code testing and continuous improvement.
• The second and third assignment are in the area of your interest, e.g. At Group IT, Trading & Sales, or even at our subsidiary CKW or at an international Axpo Hub.

What you bring & who you are:

• University/FH Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Data Science (no more than 2 years of post-graduation professional experience). ?
• Proficiency in Python (incl. Pandas) and SQL. Experience in pyspark, Fast API or siminal is a plus
• Knowledge in ETL Tools and basic understanding of GIT for version control is a plus
• Knowledge of data modelling, data transformation and data visualization
• Basic know-how of cloud platform (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Analytical skills, attention to details, eagerness to learn new technologies and able to explain technical concepts in simple terms-
