In "Global Technical Development" (PTD), we actively collaborate and develop creative technical solutions to efficiently transform scientific ideas into products. Synthetic Molecules Technical Development (PTDC) is responsible for technical development of the synthetic pipeline molecules and for the manufacture of Drug Substance and Drug Product for clinical studies. PTDC brings a broad range of experience across Drug Substance and Drug Product and analytical sciences, and collaborates closely with key partners in Research and Early Development (pRED / gRED) and with our synthetic molecules commercial manufacturing network.

You are responsible for the following main tasks:

  • Supporting process development of oligonucleotide and peptide manufacturing processes focusing on the downstream process. Expertise in preparative chromatography and membrane filtration is an advantage.
  • Perform preparative chromatography techniques, including batch-wise and continuous HPLC.
  • Screening of conditions, development of cost-efficient, novel and robust processes.
  • Conduct analytical tests to evaluate the purity and quality of pharmaceutical products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of downstream processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in a clear and organized manner.

You have the following qualifications:

  • Enrollment at a university as a Master- or a Bachelor student or completed studies no longer than 1 year in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Good understanding of organic chemistry and process chemistry.
  • Ideally, experience with downstream process development (chromatography, UF/DF, nanofiltration, TFE) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in the laboratory.
  • Working style driven by initiative, team focus, responsibility and flexibility.
  • English is a must, German is advanced.
